The
Obstacle in our Path
A very wealthy and curious king places
a huge boulder in the middle of a road. Then he hides nearby to see if anyone
would try to remove the gigantic rock from the road. The first people passing
by are some of the king’s wealthiest merchants and courtiers. Instead of moving
the boulder, they simply walk around it. Some loudly blame the King for not
maintaining the roads. Thus, not even one of them try to move the boulder.
Finally,
a peasant comes along. His arms are full of vegetables. He gets near the
boulder, instead of simply walk around as others did, the peasant puts down his
load and try to move the stone to the side of the road. It takes him a lot of
effort but he succeeds. After, the peasant gathers up his load, ready to go on
his way he sees a purse lying in the road where he moved the boulder from. He
then picks and open the purse. The purse is stuffed full of gold coins and notes
from the king. The king’s note reads, the gold coins and notes are reward for
moving the boulder from the road.
The
king showed the peasant what many of us never understand: every obstacle
presents an opportunity to improve our condition. Don’t shy away from obstacles
or give up to challenges, because they last just for a while. Perhaps, the
trophy they present makes a big difference and it’s worthwhile. That obstacle
or challenge could be the opportunity to success and your prosperity. #DubemickyInspiringGreatnessDaily.
