Learn to ask questions

By Arinze Clems

His youthfulness, the immediate past State chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria Anambra State chapter, Comrade Frank Maduka JP has advised Anambra youths to start asking 'the right questions'. His youthfulness made the remarks while addressing the Nze N' Ozo students prestigious council.

He said; "the I do not care attitude of our generation is second to none, we need to start asking the right questions else, there will not be Nigeria for any us."

  1. "In Anambra State for instance, for three years now, we hear of different youth empowerment programme. See on TVs youth empowerment programme, but no one has asked where are the youths empowered?
  2. It's a shame, we shout up and celebrate a government threatening the moral fabric of our society. A government that helps prostitution with pageantry, helps gangsterism, and promotes laziness by paying huge sums of money to people doing nothing.
  3. What we have is a case of 'nwa oti ele n' oku, si na ona ara mmanu'
  4. It's even more shameful that we have been conditioned to think that those who rape and plunder us are our benefactors, and we have accepted it.
  5. Even budgeted youth empowerment programmes that have been existing prior to this government that promised continuity came to have been either scraped and downplayed.
  6. Previously, first class graduates are given one million naira and an automatic employment. Previously craetive youths are supported handsomely to advance.
  7. Today, we have fanfare and media publications yet no one amongst us, the youth leaders of conscience has raised a voice, me inclusive.
  8. We have all become dancers, hailers and shouters for pennies and none of us is bold enough to notice that we are drifting.
  9. Let's take back our state now. Let's ask the right questions and demand appropriate answers.
  10. We are a front line state in Nigeria but lately we act as if anything can go here. It's time to bring politicians to the table and for once put future first.
  11. Americans are already asking President Trump to get out of the way, chiefly for not making the right speech. We cry whenever we are called 'third world country' but we are here hailing our own brothers for impoverishing us and acting as victims while we are the chief makers of our problems.
  12. Thank God that democracy has afforded us opportunity every four years to right our wrong.
  13. The right time is now.
  14. If only we can jettison sentiments and face realities.
  15. An administrative style makes and mar any government, and an administrators attitude forms the administrative style. So we cannot separate the personal behavior of our leader from the kind of government he runs.
  16. Let's not deceive ourselves thinking we are helpless or useless, as far as you are old enough to enough is enough and stick to it.
  17. As youth leaders our peers listen to us. We influence their decisions and actions. That's why our mannerism often become popular slangs. Why can't we use our God given influence to praise Him by making our youths do what is right?
  18. God bless Anambra youths."
After Comrade Frank gave his address, the youths were moody. Thus you can see in their faces, decision to take charge of their future. However, in their vote of thanks, they praised and thank Comrade Frank Maduka JP for making out time to honour their invitation.
