As child growing up Dubemicky made lots of mistakes. Among the mistakes was back then in
Primary School when he started using biro popularly called “pen”, to write. Each time he write and makes a mistake, he would try very hard to
erase his mistake before submitting his paper or test to the teacher.
Trying to erase
the mistake he would sometimes apply his saliva on eraser to clean up the
mistake. At other times, he would use razor blade to scrap the mistake, while
at some other times he would use chalk to clean the mistake. But you know what?
Despite all his efforts to clean his mistakes, it would always reappear.
Whenever he used
his saliva and eraser, it seen to be the best option to cover up his mistakes, but
the problem was that it will always leave holes on his books. Then his teachers will
punish him for being outrageously dirty and careless, whereas all he tried to
do was to cover my errors.
Not until a
patience and kindhearted teacher called him aside and said to him; "anytime
you make a mistake, just cross it and move on". Further, the teacher said;
"trying to erase your mistakes would only damage your book and will do you
no good.
Consequently Dubemicky defending his
actions, told his teacher that he doesn’t want people to see his
mistake. Thus, he prefer to cover then up before submitting it. However, the kind teacher laughed and said "trying to erase your mistake
will make more people to take note of your mess, and then stigmatise you".
Last week in the Mistake series and articles, I shared with us that mistake is inevitable value of life; hence some us get frustrated over mistakes and viewed it negatively. Thus, some would pick a fight with loved ones and would want to kill him or herself, then fail to learn from the mistake. However, instead of moving on with life, we dwell on our mistakes which already is in the past.
From Dubemicky's experience in Primary School using biro to write and making mistakes, you can see that mistakes are really inevitable; as at a particular point in time we find ourselves making one mistake or another. Also we can see that dwelling on our mistakes trying cover them up could be worst thing to do whenever a mistake is made. You don't have to concentrate on covering up what has happened. Channel the energy on something better. Take responsibility of the mistake, cross over it, learn the lessons it presents, become better you, and move on with life. Don't expose
yourself as a result of trying to cover your mistakes. Better things
are ahead of you.
Good morning, and do have yourself a pleasant day and excellent week ahead. #DubemickyInspiringGreatnessDaily.
