Alexis Sanchez’s time
at Arsenal looks to be over after he posted a cryptic message on social media
after Arsenal were hammered 4-0 by Liverpool at Anfield. After the match, he
tweeted ‘Just published a photo’ and linked out to his Instagram account.
It was his first
appearance of the season but he didn't last the full 90 minutes, as he was
replaced by Alexandre Lacazette mid-way through the second half.
The Chilean is
desperate to leave the club for Manchester City and Sunday's battering will
have done little to encourage him to stay at the Emirates. The photo on his
Instagram showed him on his haunches, looking dejected.
Sanchez struggled to
get into the game, and when he was substituted he cut a disconsolate figure on
the bench. Meanwhile Arsene Wenger, left his post-match press
conference after just two minutes following Arsenal's thrashing.
Goals from Robert
Firmino, Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and Daniel Sturridge made it an afternoon to
forget at Anfield for the Frenchman, who then had to fulfill his media obligations.
“From the first to the last minute we weren’t technically or physically at the
level to compete," he said.
“Overall, the
performance was not at the requested level.” But Wenger would only
last two minutes and 34 seconds before Arsenal press officer Mark Gonnella
ushered the Gunners boss away. Read also: WENGER OUT: Arsene's shockingadmission after Liverpool loss.
